We have completed another exceptional project. This time it is unique mainly because of its power and size. Successfully passed the tests of a charging station with a power of 1.2 MW! This giant can charge up to 16 electric buses at the same time! This is the largest station produced in the history of the company.
Megastation for Hamburg
This charging station was built for one of the largest public transport operators in Germany, Verkehrsbetriebe Hamburg-Holstein. This is the first of two blocks to be delivered to Hamburg in 2019.
Mega-casing made of concrete
Not only is the power of this charger unique, but also its casing. The power of 1.2 MW was enclosed in a concrete container, which was specially ordered and weighs almost 25,000 kg. And when the heart of the charging station is topped up with cables, contactors and power modules, it weighs almost 30,000 kg. The transport of this weight will therefore be a major logistical challenge, and powerful cranes will be required to unload it.
Mega-power – 1.2 MW
The 1.2 MW unit is divided into 4 modules with a capacity of 300 kW. To each of them are connected 2 satellites, each of which has two charging outputs. This means that the power of 300 kW can be distributed between 4 charging points and can power 4 buses at the same time.
Intelligent power management system
The infrastructure has an intelligent management system that allows you to make the most of its power. If two electric buses are connected to the station, 150 kW is transferred from the 300 kW module to each of them. When three vehicles are charged, two of them are powered by 75 kW and one by 150 kW. If 4 electric buses are connected at the same time, each bus receives 75 kW each.
