The Dąbrowa Basin Region is confronting the question of electromobility in earnest. The largest city in the region is buying more electric buses from Solaris Bus & Coach, along with charging stations, which will be produced and delivered by Ekoenergetyka-Polska.

The Sosnowiec City Transport Company will be provided with both the depot facilities as well as city fast-charging stations. Ekoenergetyka will supply eight 80 kW mobile slow-charging stations to the base at ul. Lenartowicza. Devices equipped with two CCS Combo 2 connectors will mean that more than one bus can be charged at a time.

The city will also install two 250 kW and one 190 kW inverted pantograph fast-charging station at the bus station. Placed on special masts, they will not take up much space, which is a major convenience, especially in public areas.

Thanks to Ekoenergetyka-Polska’s vast knowledge and know-how, the inhabitants of Sosnowiec and the whole Dąbrowa Basin Region will be able to breathe cleaner air and learn the advantages of fumeless, quieter urban transport.

15 charging stations of 60 kW power each with dispensers, have been transferred to the Woronicza depot in Warsaw.This is part of the contract we are carrying out for the capital’s operator. According to the contract, 65 60 kW plug-in chargers and 3 pantograph charging stations will be located at the MZA depots. This is not the first time we have cooperated with a Warsaw partner.

Electromobility in Radom! Ekoenergetyka-Polska installs charging stations and infrastructure monitoring system in this city. Solaris Bus & Coach will provide electric buses.


Radom will receive new Ekoenergetyka products. They will be two fast charging stations Core Charger F of 300 kW each. The devices will be connected to the buses via Link One, designed to operate pantographs on the bus roof. In addition, a Combo CCS type 2 cable will be available in the cabinets at the mast. As a result, the bus that will reach the end of Osiedle Południe and Osiedle Gołębiów I will be charged by means of a pantograph station or possibly powered by means of a plug-in connector.


In addition, at the MPK depot at 4 Wjazdowa Street, four Plug Charger FX mobile charging stations of 80 kW (2 x 40 kW) each and two Plug Charger R mobile single-output charging stations of 40 kW will be installed. A total of ten charging points will be available to the operator. They are easy to move between buses and will make use much easier.


The infrastructure that Ekoenergetyka-Polska is installing in Radom will also be equipped with a monitoring system. This means that the operator will receive remote access to the parameters of the devices. Moreover, it definitely accelerates all service works.


– We are glad that Radom is also one of the Polish cities that rely on electromobility. We are glad that we can participate in the efforts of its authorities to make public transport zero-emissions and, as a result, citizens will be able to breathe clean air. Installation works of the charging infrastructure have already been carried out by us. Together with our partner Solaris Bus & Coach we are waiting for the voltage to be applied by the energy supplier to move on to the stage of commissioning and acceptance of the devices. – says Maciej Wojeński, Vice-President of the Ekoenergetyka-Polska.


The purchase of electric buses together with the charging infrastructure is one of the elements of the transport project that Radom is implementing.

Ekoenergetyka-Polska has prepared an individual solution for the Dutch public transport operator. The charging station with a capacity of 1.2 MW closed in a container is able to power 20 electric buses simultaneously! It will be installed in Zeist, a town near Utrecht. However, it is constructed in such a way that it can be transported to any place.

 

Mega Charger X 1200 – a new product of the Ekoenergetyka-Polska is based on the concept of a central high-power charging station for electric buses.It is a multi-output device, whose power can be divided according to the needs and delivered to vehicles using various types of dispensers with plug-in CCS Combo. 1.2 MW of Mega Charger X closed in a container facilitates transport.  The company has experience in constructing megastations. A similar solution, also with a capacity of 1.2 MW was implemented in Hamburg, but there the device was placed in a stationary, concrete housing.

The 1.2 MW megastation for Qbuzz is encased in a metal container. It will be connected to 20 Point Zero dispensers with CCS Combo 2 plugs, which will power 60 kW Ebusco electric buses. The company has experience in constructing megastations. A similar solution, also with a capacity of 1.2 MW was implemented in Hamburg, but there the device was placed in a stationary, concrete housing.

The 1.2 MW megastation for Qbuzz is encased in a metal container. It will be connected to 20 Point Zero satellites with CCS Combo 2 plugs, which will power 60 kW Ebusco electric buses. This is a new solution developed by Ekoenergetyka-Polska.The whole station can be moved to another place.  For the time being, however, the Dutch operator Qbuzz will install the station in the bus depot near Utrecht, in Zeist.

It was quite a challenge to adapt a solution that would work in a small depot space. The buses are parked a few dozen centimetres apart. Ekoenergetyka-Polska designed the infrastructure so as not to hinder drivers and service.

– We listen carefully to our customers and create solutions that will fully meet their needs. The Qbuzz received from us a charging station with all necessary infrastructure. When the contract between the operator and the city is over, the company can move it to any place of business. – says Vice President of Ekoenergetyka-Polska Maciej Wojeński.

The Netherlands has a plan to replace the bus fleet with zero emission vehicles by 2025. Qbuzz is one of the largest Dutch companies operating in the public transport sector – currently there are 99 fully electric buses in its fleet. Ekoenergetyka-Polska designed the infrastructure so as not to hinder drivers and service staff.

Announcement

The eRevolution is moving on to a higher level. We will be creating a modern infrastructure for electric buses for the German operator Stadtwerke München GmbH (SWM) and Münchner Verkehrsgesellschaft mbh (MVG) in Munich. We will deliver 56  charging stations cooled with liquid!

About the project

The German public transport operator is building a completely new bus depot at München-Moosach that will manage 200 electric buses. The modern building complex, called Hybrid-M, will consist of, among others, an underground depot hall with charging stations and office rooms on the upper floors. We will install there 56 charging stations of 150 kW each. The power electronics will be liquid cooled. The waste heat generated by the devices will be retrieved as one of the sources for heating the building. This is the only such solution on a European scale!

We will distribute 200A CCS Combo 2 connectors in the depot. In order to start charging the bus, the driver will use the interface to select a specific charging station. The connector will be fed automatically from a ceiling reel, directly to the bus.

To implement the project, Ekoenergetyka-Polska chose a reliable German partner – WISAG Elektrotechnik Bayern GmbH & Co. It will be responsible for the electrical part of the project – supply and installation of cables and construction of a transformer station. The companies have previously cooperated in the implementation of a project for VHH Hamburg. The beginning of this new work will start in April 2020 and the entire infrastructure will be launched by January 2021.

The Vice-President of Ecoenergetyka-Polska, Maciej Wojeński is happy about winning the tender – This is another very large project in Germany. The charging stations will not only supply electric buses with power but will also become an alternative heating source for the Hybrid-M complex, which is an innovative solution, even on a global scale. We are glad that more and more operators approach the electrification of vehicle fleets comprehensively, creating from scratch infrastructures adapted to operating electric buses.

Another city in Poland that focuses on zero-emission public transport is Poznań.  Together with our partner ZU Instaltech we have carried out the design works, all the documentation prepared, we have already launched the charging stations. What is more, we have tested them and  we can conclude that our chargers are probably the fastest in the world!

 

Ekoenergetyka-Polska signed an agreement with MPK in Poznań last year. The contract assumes that in the capital of Wielkopolska, electric buses will supply 16 charging stations with the total capacity of over 2.2 MW. The infrastructure will be located in three locations. At the Jan III Sobieski bus station and these will be two double station pantograph charging stations with 540 kW each. Another place will be the Garbary bus station – a single station 270 kW pantograph charging station. The third location is the depot on Warszawska Street and there will be two-station stationary, 80 kW depot charging stations and three 40 kW mobile charging stations each.

 

The tests were conducted at the Sobieski bus station. We installed 540 kW chargers with EC Engineering docking stations there. The SBC bus charged at 533 kW and 790A! The whole process was completely correct, which allows us to assume that it is the fastest charger in the world.

 

Poznań is another point on the map of Poland and Europe, which will supply public transport using the infrastructure prepared by Ekoenergetyka-Polska, limiting the emission of exhaust fumes. We hope that we will contribute to the improvement of the comfort of both the residents of the city and tourists visiting this place.

We have received great help from the Region, now we want to help – this is how Bartosz Kubik, CEO of Ekoenergetyka Polska, summarized the opening of the patronage classroom, who officially cut the green ribbon, thus opening a new laboratory in “Elektronik” in Zielona Góra. The students gained a didactic base, where they will explore the secrets of electromobility.


We focus on development


As leaders of the electromobility in Poland and Europe, we know how important is to educate specialists in this field. Therefore, we believe that young people in Zielona Góra should have the opportunity to acquire knowledge and skills related to the e-mobility industry. A modern laboratory is a big step that will enable students of “Elektronika” to gain valuable experience, and will definitely help them to find their place on the job market.

What is more, talented young people, who will become high-class specialists, will not have to leave Zielona Góra, because they will gain a chance to be employed in our company.


Didactic background

The patronage classroom in “Elektronik” is only the beginning of our cooperation. There is an infrastructure for charging vehicles. Using a specially prepared model, young students of electromobility will be able to learn about the process of charging electric vehicles. CEO Bartosz Kubik announced that this is the first step in the direction of transferring knowledge on the latest technologies.


Roots of electromobility

The creation of a patronage classroom in one of the schools in Zielona Góra is a very symbolic event for us. In this city, in 2009, two colleagues from the university – Bartosz Kubik and Maciej Wojeński – created the Ekoenergetyka company. Since then, we have carried out projects for 52 cities in 11 countries and won many prestigious awards.

Soon we will have the opportunity to participate in the largest automotive trade fair in Europe. New Mobility World is an event organized by the German organization VDA – Automotive Industry Association as part of the IAA 2019 (Internationale Automobil-Ausstellung). From the very beginning, it has been the world’s largest platform for the exchange of experience and learning about new forms of mobility.

About New Mobility World

New Mobility World is an international, cross-industry B2B event. The trade fair is held every two years. The 2017 fair was a great success. More than 250 companies took part in it, more than 250,000 visitors came and 200 speakers gave their speeches. This year the numbers may be much higher as the popularity of the trade fair is growing. Many innovations from the world of automotive and electromobility await the participants. As in previous years, the NMW 2019 is located directly at the IAA, this year in halls 5.0 and 5.1.

New charging station for electric cars

During the event, we plan to present a new product – a fast charging station for electric cars, fastPOINT, with a power of 50 kW. It is equipped with a universal charging interface, standardized plugs and high output power. Thanks to the latter, charging an electric car is possible in less than 30 minutes. Creating of fastPOINT is a return to our roots, when 10 years ago, we took our first steps in the industry of electric car charging infrastructure.

Our charging stations will again go to Warsaw!

Today the CEO of Ekoenergetyka-Polska Bartosz Kubik has signed with MZA Warszawa a contract for 20 fast charging stations for electric buses with a total capacity of almost 8 MEGAVATES! The contract provides for the production, implementation and service of the stations.

The ordered stations have a capacity of 200 or 400 each and are used to charge electric buses when stationary at the bus stop. Chargers can be powered by both the pantograph and the CCS Combo 2 plug-in connector. The infrastructure is characterized by a monolithic structure – the pantograph pole will be integrated with the station to form a compact structure.

The infrastructure will be built in 2020 on 7 terminuses in Warsaw:

Wilanów 6×400 kW

Chomiczówka 4×400 kW

Szczęśliwice 2×400 kW

Esperanto 2×400 kW

Browarna 2×400 kW

 Nowodwory 2×400 kW

Młynów 2×200 kW


The purchase of the charging station is co-financed under the European programme “Infrastructure and Environment”. The programme includes not only the development of infrastructure, but also the purchase of 160 electric buses and 145 low-emission gas vehicles by the end of next year. 130 fully electric buses will be supplied by Solaris. Total support from the European Union under this project amounts to PLN 180 million.

The manufacturer of charging stations for electric vehicles, Ekoenergetyka-Polska, has supplied and launched the charging infrastructure for electric buses in Barcelona. The chargers were sent to the main public transport operator, Transports Metropolitans de Barcelona. In the TMB depot there have been installed seven quickPOINT Depot Charger with a power of 50 kW each and a quickPOINT City Charger with power of 500 kW.


Customised infrastructure


Preparation of the infrastructure for the Spanish operator involved two challenges. Located in the south of Europe, Barcelona is known for its high temperatures., For the safety reason depot and city chargers have been equipped with a special fire-fighting system. In addition, the city charging station has been coated with a special white paint, which reflects sunlight to prevent from heating up. There were also installed more powerful fans, which allow for more efficient cooling of the charger’s interior. This equipment ensures that the infrastructure is mediterranean-heat-resistant.


The second challenge faced by Ekoenergetyka-Polska was the limited space. Barcelona is a large, busy metropolis with crowded streets. Therefore, both the urban and the depot charging station have very small base housing in order to occupy as little space as possible.


Dedicated monitoring system


In addition, the infrastructure is equipped with a real-time monitoring system. Although TMB already had its own system, it has been 100% integrated with the monitoring system provided by Ekoenergetyka-Polska. Thanks to this, the operator, using the OCPP communication protocol, can monitor the functioning and the processes of the charging stations on an ongoing basis.


The completed implementation for TMB (Transports Metropolitans de Barcelona) is a flagship example of our ability to adapt to all customer requirements. The infrastructure delivered to Spain has a dedicated design, dimensions adapted to the available space, is resistant to heat thanks to a special paint, additional cooling and fire system. And our monitoring system has been successfully integrated into the operator’s system. – says Bartosz Kubik, President of Ekoenergetyka-Polska. Chargers for electric buses RATP (Régie Autonome des Transports Parisiens)

Chargers for electric buses produced by Ekoenergetyka-Polska reach the Seine!  


Polish consortium Ekoenergetyka-Polska and El-Cab won a tender for delivering charging infrastructure for French public transport operator – RATP (Régie Autonome des Transports Parisiens). The agreement is in force for two years with an option for extension for another 12 months. The total amount of the contract can amount up to 50 000 000 EUR.


This contract with RATP is a huge success for our company. This is our first order from the French market, and RATP is one of the biggest public transport operators in France – said Maciej Wojeński, Vice-president of Ekoenergetyka-Polska. RATP Group comes from Paris but they are in 4 continents in 14 countries. They serve more than 16 million passengers per day.


Cooperation with RATP is unique for us in number of reasons. This is a stability for us and huge credit of trust for our organization to which we are given by large, well-known companies. This order and our following expansion in European market confirm fast-paced eRevolution – said Wojeński. 


62 depot charging stations and additional services


Ekoenergetyka will deliver at least 62 chargers with the minimum output power of 50 kW each, which will be customized following RATP requirements. For example their construction, devices will have a compact form and minimum size. All chargers will be ready until August 2019.


First depot charging stations 60kW and 100 kW will be delivered in February 2019. They will power electric buses in the Île-de-France region. It is the most populated region of France, which concentrates 18% of the country’s population and covers the area of Paris.


The agreement includes also maintenance, commissioning, and after-sales service, as an option. All charging stations will have two years guarantee.


Bus 2025: plan for a 100% ecologically-friendly fleet


Agreement between RATP and Ekoenergetyka-Polska is part of an ambitious plan of transport authority Île-de-France Mobilités (IDFM) to remove diesel-powered buses from the Paris region network. RATP committed in 2014 to a major technological and ecological transformation with the aim of converting most of its bus depots to electricity by 2025.

Research and Development Centre


Thanks to two subsidies from the Ministry of Infrastructure, since June 2018 Ekoenergetyka-Polska has been building a new Research and Development Centre for new technologies in electric transport. On 19 September 2018, the ceremony of laying the foundation act for the construction of the new facility took place.


In the Research and Development Centre we will improve the available products, as well as develop completely new information technologies and systems for public transport. – said Maciej Wojeński, Vice President of Ekoenergetyka-Polska.


New jobs


Due to the dynamic development of the company plans to increase employment and needs qualified staff. The company is looking for highly specialized professionals and engineers: electricians, electricians designers, electronic engineers, as well as embeded programmers.


Currently, more than 20 recruitment processes are underway. This year our employment has increased by over 100% and this is not the end of the expansion of the Polish manufacturer of electric vehicle charging infrastructure.
