The Dąbrowa Basin Region is confronting the question of electromobility in earnest. The largest city in the region is buying more electric buses from Solaris Bus & Coach, along with charging stations, which will be produced and delivered by Ekoenergetyka-Polska.

The Sosnowiec City Transport Company will be provided with both the depot facilities as well as city fast-charging stations. Ekoenergetyka will supply eight 80 kW mobile slow-charging stations to the base at ul. Lenartowicza. Devices equipped with two CCS Combo 2 connectors will mean that more than one bus can be charged at a time.

The city will also install two 250 kW and one 190 kW inverted pantograph fast-charging station at the bus station. Placed on special masts, they will not take up much space, which is a major convenience, especially in public areas.

Thanks to Ekoenergetyka-Polska’s vast knowledge and know-how, the inhabitants of Sosnowiec and the whole Dąbrowa Basin Region will be able to breathe cleaner air and learn the advantages of fumeless, quieter urban transport.

Ekoenergetyka-Polska is successfully expanding to Scandinavia. For Brakar AS, a Norwegian public transport organizer, we will prepare a charging infrastructure for the depot in the city of Drammen. Based on extensive knowledge and many years of experience, the charger manufacturer proposed a solution tailored to customer requirements.

In line with the design, two roofed shelter structures were built in Drammen. Special stands for electric buses will be placed underneath. Ekoenergetyka will supply 32 compact wallboxes of 30 kW each. They will be equipped with a cable with a CCS Combo 2 plug. Due to being suspended on poles, they take a minimum of space. The great advantage of charging stations lies in the fact that, despite their small size, they have the same parameters as standard structures with the same power.

Undoubtedly, one of the greatest advantages of the solutions proposed by Ekoenergetyka-Polska is their perfect match to customer requirements. The charging stations produced by the company are tailored to specific needs. This applies both to the technical aspects, such as power or a specific interface, as well as to the design i.e. the shape, type of material, and colour of the station.

This is not the first contract that a Polish manufacturer has been implementing for the Scandinavian Brakar AS.  Ekoenergetyka is also preparing 300 kW of pantograph charging stations.  They will supply power to electric buses on city routes.

15 charging stations of 60 kW power each with dispensers, have been transferred to the Woronicza depot in Warsaw.This is part of the contract we are carrying out for the capital’s operator. According to the contract, 65 60 kW plug-in chargers and 3 pantograph charging stations will be located at the MZA depots. This is not the first time we have cooperated with a Warsaw partner.

Electromobility in Radom! Ekoenergetyka-Polska installs charging stations and infrastructure monitoring system in this city. Solaris Bus & Coach will provide electric buses.


Radom will receive new Ekoenergetyka products. They will be two fast charging stations Core Charger F of 300 kW each. The devices will be connected to the buses via Link One, designed to operate pantographs on the bus roof. In addition, a Combo CCS type 2 cable will be available in the cabinets at the mast. As a result, the bus that will reach the end of Osiedle Południe and Osiedle Gołębiów I will be charged by means of a pantograph station or possibly powered by means of a plug-in connector.


In addition, at the MPK depot at 4 Wjazdowa Street, four Plug Charger FX mobile charging stations of 80 kW (2 x 40 kW) each and two Plug Charger R mobile single-output charging stations of 40 kW will be installed. A total of ten charging points will be available to the operator. They are easy to move between buses and will make use much easier.


The infrastructure that Ekoenergetyka-Polska is installing in Radom will also be equipped with a monitoring system. This means that the operator will receive remote access to the parameters of the devices. Moreover, it definitely accelerates all service works.


– We are glad that Radom is also one of the Polish cities that rely on electromobility. We are glad that we can participate in the efforts of its authorities to make public transport zero-emissions and, as a result, citizens will be able to breathe clean air. Installation works of the charging infrastructure have already been carried out by us. Together with our partner Solaris Bus & Coach we are waiting for the voltage to be applied by the energy supplier to move on to the stage of commissioning and acceptance of the devices. – says Maciej Wojeński, Vice-President of the Ekoenergetyka-Polska.


The purchase of electric buses together with the charging infrastructure is one of the elements of the transport project that Radom is implementing.

Ekoenergetyka-Polska has prepared an individual solution for the Dutch public transport operator. The charging station with a capacity of 1.2 MW closed in a container is able to power 20 electric buses simultaneously! It will be installed in Zeist, a town near Utrecht. However, it is constructed in such a way that it can be transported to any place.

 

Mega Charger X 1200 – a new product of the Ekoenergetyka-Polska is based on the concept of a central high-power charging station for electric buses.It is a multi-output device, whose power can be divided according to the needs and delivered to vehicles using various types of dispensers with plug-in CCS Combo. 1.2 MW of Mega Charger X closed in a container facilitates transport.  The company has experience in constructing megastations. A similar solution, also with a capacity of 1.2 MW was implemented in Hamburg, but there the device was placed in a stationary, concrete housing.

The 1.2 MW megastation for Qbuzz is encased in a metal container. It will be connected to 20 Point Zero dispensers with CCS Combo 2 plugs, which will power 60 kW Ebusco electric buses. The company has experience in constructing megastations. A similar solution, also with a capacity of 1.2 MW was implemented in Hamburg, but there the device was placed in a stationary, concrete housing.

The 1.2 MW megastation for Qbuzz is encased in a metal container. It will be connected to 20 Point Zero satellites with CCS Combo 2 plugs, which will power 60 kW Ebusco electric buses. This is a new solution developed by Ekoenergetyka-Polska.The whole station can be moved to another place.  For the time being, however, the Dutch operator Qbuzz will install the station in the bus depot near Utrecht, in Zeist.

It was quite a challenge to adapt a solution that would work in a small depot space. The buses are parked a few dozen centimetres apart. Ekoenergetyka-Polska designed the infrastructure so as not to hinder drivers and service.

Qbuzz is one of the largest Dutch companies operating in the public transport sector – currently there are 99 fully electric buses in its fleet. Ekoenergetyka-Polska is executing a contract for electric bus charging stations for Barcelona. Soon, the capital of Catalonia will receive two, 500 kW pantograph chargers each. This is not the first contract with a Spanish operator.


The Polish producer of charging statrions adapts each of its projects fully to customer requirements. The two 500 kW pantograph charging stations, each with 500 kW, will be adapted to the climate conditions in Barcelona. Moreover, they will generate a very low noise level (<55dB). This is quite an important aspect that affects the comfort of the city’s residents. Due to the weather conditions and high temperatures in Barcelona, the stations are equipped with an additional safety system.


Ekoenergetyka-Polska has experience in constructing charging stations in the urban space of the Catalan operator, as it has already provided solutions for Transports Metropolitans de Barcelona. Seven 50 kW plug-in chargers were installed at TMB depot, as well as a 500 kW pantograph quick charging station. Barcelona is planning to replace the oldest buses in the city with electric ones.


– Another project for Transports Metropolitans de Barcelona, carried out with Endesa Energia S.A.U. is an excellent example of our ability to meet the high expectations of our customers. The infrastructure delivered to Spain is quiet, has dimensions adapted to the available space and is protected against high temperatures thanks to a fire system. Another city in Poland that focuses on zero-emission public transport is Poznań.  Together with our partner ZU Instaltech we have carried out the design works, all the documentation prepared, we have already launched the charging stations. What is more, we have tested them and  we can conclude that our chargers are probably the fastest in the world!

 

Ekoenergetyka-Polska signed an agreement with MPK in Poznań last year. The contract assumes that in the capital of Wielkopolska, electric buses will supply 16 charging stations with the total capacity of over 2.2 MW. The infrastructure will be located in three locations. At the Jan III Sobieski bus station and these will be two double station pantograph charging stations with 540 kW each. Another place will be the Garbary bus station – a single station 270 kW pantograph charging station. The third location is the depot on Warszawska Street and there will be two-station stationary, 80 kW depot charging stations and three 40 kW mobile charging stations each.

 

The tests were conducted at the Sobieski bus station. We installed 540 kW chargers with EC Engineering docking stations there. The SBC bus charged at 533 kW and 790A! The whole process was completely correct, which allows us to assume that it is the fastest charger in the world.

 

Poznań is another point on the map of Poland and Europe, which will supply public transport using the infrastructure prepared by Ekoenergetyka-Polska, limiting the emission of exhaust fumes. We hope that we will contribute to the improvement of the comfort of both the residents of the city and tourists visiting this place.

We are talking about megastatic charging of as much as 1.2 MW and the infrastructure that allows you to charge up to 16 buses at the same time!

 

Multi-output high-capacity station

 

At Busworld 2019 we will present the largest eco-energy station in the history of the company. We are talking about a multi-output substation with a power output of 1.2 MW. Its power is distributed among charging points – Satellites equipped with CCS Combo 2 connectors, which allow to power up to 16 buses at the same time. A single satellite can charge a bus with the power of up to 150 kW.

The whole is managed by an intelligent system, which allows for optimal use the power. It distributes the energy accordingly, depending on how many vehicles are connected to the megastatation.

Eco-energy continues to conquer the West. Recently we opened our office in Berlin, which is the headquarters of the new company Ekoenergetyka-Deutschland GmbH. In recent days we have participated in the Western Economic Forum to strengthen and develop our relations with Western customers.

How did we make our presence felt? We took part in an interesting discussion panel, showed at our stand the latest charging station for electric cars, met with foreign business partners and acquired new ones. This is how our presence at the most important economic event in the region looked like in a nutshell.


We are open to western markets

Participation in the Western Economic Forum is, above all, an opportunity for us to meet our partners from abroad. Moreover, it gives an opportunity to present our technologies to new entities.

This year’s Forum was particularly important for us, due to the newly opened office in Berlin. We are happy to share our many years of experience and exchange views with other entities. The annual event is an excellent communication platform, as well as an opportunity to establish new contacts.


Western Economic Forum

This event has been taking place in our region since 2008 and is organized by the Organization of Employers of the Lubuskie Region. Every year entrepreneurs, local governments, parliamentarians and social partners participate in it. The Forum has already gained an established position in the business environment.

The aim of the Western Economic Forum is to discuss, familiarize with the latest economic trends, as well as to identify opportunities and threats to the development of enterprises operating in western Poland. Forum participants have the opportunity to strengthen economic cooperation through various industry meetings or active networking.

This year’s edition of the Forum focused its attention mainly on the German market and startups. Especially the first issue was particularly interesting for us.

We have received great help from the Region, now we want to help – this is how Bartosz Kubik, CEO of Ekoenergetyka Polska, summarized the opening of the patronage classroom, who officially cut the green ribbon, thus opening a new laboratory in “Elektronik” in Zielona Góra. The students gained a didactic base, where they will explore the secrets of electromobility.


We focus on development


As leaders of the electromobility in Poland and Europe, we know how important is to educate specialists in this field. Therefore, we believe that young people in Zielona Góra should have the opportunity to acquire knowledge and skills related to the e-mobility industry. A modern laboratory is a big step that will enable students of “Elektronika” to gain valuable experience, and will definitely help them to find their place on the job market.

What is more, talented young people, who will become high-class specialists, will not have to leave Zielona Góra, because they will gain a chance to be employed in our company.


Didactic background

The patronage classroom in “Elektronik” is only the beginning of our cooperation. There is an infrastructure for charging vehicles. Using a specially prepared model, young students of electromobility will be able to learn about the process of charging electric vehicles. CEO Bartosz Kubik announced that this is the first step in the direction of transferring knowledge on the latest technologies.


Roots of electromobility

The creation of a patronage classroom in one of the schools in Zielona Góra is a very symbolic event for us. In this city, in 2009, two colleagues from the university – Bartosz Kubik and Maciej Wojeński – created the Ekoenergetyka company. Since then, we have carried out projects for 52 cities in 11 countries and won many prestigious awards.

Soon we will have the opportunity to participate in the largest automotive trade fair in Europe. New Mobility World is an event organized by the German organization VDA – Automotive Industry Association as part of the IAA 2019 (Internationale Automobil-Ausstellung). From the very beginning, it has been the world’s largest platform for the exchange of experience and learning about new forms of mobility.

About New Mobility World

New Mobility World is an international, cross-industry B2B event. The trade fair is held every two years. The 2017 fair was a great success. More than 250 companies took part in it, more than 250,000 visitors came and 200 speakers gave their speeches. This year the numbers may be much higher as the popularity of the trade fair is growing. Many innovations from the world of automotive and electromobility await the participants. As in previous years, the NMW 2019 is located directly at the IAA, this year in halls 5.0 and 5.1.

New charging station for electric cars

During the event, we plan to present a new product – a fast charging station for electric cars, fastPOINT, with a power of 50 kW. It is equipped with a universal charging interface, standardized plugs and high output power. Thanks to the latter, charging an electric car is possible in less than 30 minutes. Creating of fastPOINT is a return to our roots, when 10 years ago, we took our first steps in the industry of electric car charging infrastructure.

The 1.2 MW megastatation from Ekoenergetyka-Polska has been delivered to Hamburg and the work on the commissioning of the entire infrastructure is in progress. The depot area is being gradually modernised so that soon the electricity from the powerful station will flow through the wires and power the first electric buses!

Megacontract – Megastation

Last year, Ekoenergetyka-Polska signed a contract with Verkehrsbetriebe Hamburg-Holstein, one of the largest public transport operators in Germany. The 8-year framework agreement provides for the delivery of a charging station for electric buses with a total capacity of more than 7 MW. The implementation of the charging infrastructure is one of the stages of an ambitious plan for the total electrification of the rolling stock in Hamburg by 2030.

Station transport

The first step in the implementation of this agreement was the production of 1.2 MW station. At the end of March we informed about the successful completion of internal tests of the charger. Then the station, which was enclosed in concrete casing and weighed almost 30 tons, was loaded with cranes and delivered by a special oversized transport to Hamburg.

Satellite connection

There, after it had been laid on foundations and assembly work, it was connected to the transformer station. Its power of 1.2 MW consists of 4 blocks with a power of 300 kW, each of which can charge 4 buses at the same time. In order to be able to load 16 buses at the same time, it was necessary to install and connect specially designed satellites. This stage has already been completed – 8 red distributors with the Ekoenergetyka-Posla logo already stand on the depot square in Hamburg.

Testing, acceptance and …  next deliveries

When the construction works at the depot are completed, the first tests of the operator’s electric bus chargers will be carried out. After passing the tests and technical acceptance, the station will be officially launched and the first buses powered by the infrastructure of the Polish manufacturer will go to the streets of Hamburg.

The delivery of further 1.2 MW megastations for Hamburg is planned for September 2019 and 2020.

Our charging stations will again go to Warsaw!

Today the CEO of Ekoenergetyka-Polska Bartosz Kubik has signed with MZA Warszawa a contract for 20 fast charging stations for electric buses with a total capacity of almost 8 MEGAVATES! The contract provides for the production, implementation and service of the stations.

The ordered stations have a capacity of 200 or 400 each and are used to charge electric buses when stationary at the bus stop. Chargers can be powered by both the pantograph and the CCS Combo 2 plug-in connector. The infrastructure is characterized by a monolithic structure – the pantograph pole will be integrated with the station to form a compact structure.

The infrastructure will be built in 2020 on 7 terminuses in Warsaw:

Wilanów 6×400 kW

Chomiczówka 4×400 kW

Szczęśliwice 2×400 kW

Esperanto 2×400 kW

Browarna 2×400 kW

 Nowodwory 2×400 kW

Młynów 2×200 kW


The purchase of the charging station is co-financed under the European programme “Infrastructure and Environment”. The programme includes not only the development of infrastructure, but also the purchase of 160 electric buses and 145 low-emission gas vehicles by the end of next year. 130 fully electric buses will be supplied by Solaris. Total support from the European Union under this project amounts to PLN 180 million.

Let’s make it official! We have joined CharIN! Organization’s Steering Committee accepted Ekoenergetyka – Polska as a new member of the association.


CharIN is an international non-profit association formed by many experts from all over the world from various industries. The aim of the organization is to support the development of electromobility through the promotion and implementing of a universal international standard for charging of EVs – Combined Charging System (CCS).


CCS is a solution that combines different charging methods. Drivers of electric vehicles of various brands can use one standardized plug to charge their vehicles with alternating current (up to 22 kW) or with direct current (up to 350 kW), depending on the output power of the charging station. CCS is the official charging standard in the European Union and is recognized by many international companies.


Being a member of CharIN we will have a real impact on the further evolution of charging standards. “Ekoenergetyka believes in individual approach towards every customer, project and development possibility and has been implementing this approach in all it’s projects all the while promoting and implementing international standards and is happy to be part of global CharIN association” – says Maciej Wojenski, V-ce President of Ekoenergetyka.

Ekoenergetyka-Polska, producer of charging stations for electric vehicles, can be very satisfied with 2018. Why? Tenders won from European giants of public transport, production of charging stations with a total capacity of 15 MW, foundation of a new Research and Development Center for new technologies in electric transport and an increase of employment by over 120%. All this shows that both the company itself and the market of electromobility are entering a new stage.

The figures speak for themselves – in 2018 alone, 185 electric vehicle charging points produced by Ekoenergetyka were installed. An infrastructure has been delivered to as many as 23 cities in 9 countries – charging stations with the Ekoenergetyka logo are now providing high-power charging to buses reaching from the Arctic Circle (Luleå, Sweden) to the hot Catalan coasts (Barcelona, Spain). Charging stations are also used by many Polish carriers, including in Warsaw, Krakow, Katowice, Zielona Góra, Stalowa Wola, Szczecinek, which shows that the quiet and low-emission public transport in Poland is developing. This is a record year in terms of the total power to the supplied charging stations – up to 15,000 kW!


New contracts 2018


Along with increased experience and growing market share, the trust that foreign clients have IN the Ekoenergetyka-Polska brand is also growing. The best proof of this is the signed long-term contracts for the supply of charging stations for one of the largest public transport operators in Europe: the Paris RATP (Régie Autonome des Transports Parisiens) and the VHH (Verkehrsbetriebe Hamburg-Holstein). The contract for RATP amounts to up to 50 million euros, and currently the first order is being implemented for the contract of  90 bus charging stations with 100 kW each. On the other hand, the contract with the German operator provides for the delivery of 6 blocks of multi-output charging stations with a total capacity of 7.2 MW, each of which will charge 16 buses simultaneously.


2019


The dynamic development of the market requires the company to keep pace at the same speed. That is why Ekoenergetyka-Polska is not slowing down and has ambitious plans for 2019. The company is gradually increasing production and organizational capacity, and the production plan assumes delivery of a minimum of 230 charging points for buses and electric cars. Quick recharging stations will appear in Poznań and Katowice, where they will serve electric buses operated by municipal carriers. In the coming year, charging stations for MZK Zielona Góra will be supplied. One of company’s key and prospective recipients in the near future will be PKN Orlen, with whom is signed a framework contract for the supply of fast charging stations for electric cars with power of up to 150 kW. They will be located at Orlen stations in at least a dozen or so locations in Poland. The total capacity of the manufactured charging infrastructure is to exceed  last year’s result – with a total amount of at least 23,000 kW.


New R&D Center


However, the most important event of 2019 and a milestone in the history of Ekoenergetyka-Polska will be the opening of the “Research and Development Center for new technologies in electric transport“. The Center will open up new, previously unavailable opportunities for the company. The main assumption of the center is to become completely oriented to electromobility technologies that are not yet available elsewhere. Ekoenergetyka still assumes to maintain a dominant development position and technological advantage on the European electromobility market. Thanks to the functioning of the center, it will be possible to implement new employee development plans as well as start an internship program. These activities will allow the development of high-quality specialists, as well as acquire talented young people at the high school level. In addition, we are proud that the new research and development center will be the first such institution in Europe.


We power eRevolution!


Since 2013 Ekoenergetyka-Polska has delivered 330 charging stations to 45 cities in 11 countries with a total power of 22,000 kW. Each day, the installed charging stations deliver up to 300,000 kWh while 550 charging cycles. In 2019 alone, the company will provide charging stations with a total capacity greater than for all previous years combined. More and more cities are modernizing their fleets and introducing electric buses, and the popularity of personal electric cars is growing. As a result, the demand for an infrastructure is growing, which is an essential element of the development of electromobility. We can safely say that Ekoenergetyka-Polska is a driving force behind the “eRevolution” and makes electromobility a reality.
