For the tests of the electric vehicle to be used by municipal services, Ekoenergetyka-Polska S.A. provided a double-output DC charger with the power of 2 x 40 kW, which performed over 60 full charging cycles without failure. This allowed to test the functionality of the vehicle in selected municipal service companies.

“This type of testing of the new application of heavy-duty electric vehicles by future target users allows us to prepare well for the electrification of the fleet used for a wide range of tasks, including the provision of municipal services. I am aware that if electric trucks are to be widely introduced, the most important task is to take care of appropriate infrastructure, which will enable good planning of the charging cycles of the vehicles”. – explains Maciej Wojeński, Vice President of the Management Board of Ekoenergetyka-Polska S.A. 

Ekoenergetyka-Polska S.A. has gained its experience on the market of electric buses, which transport passengers in cities every day. In the case of trucks operating on scheduled routes – as was the case during the test of Renault’s electric waste collection vehicle – efficient infrastructure, appropriately planned charging points and charging time allowed for trouble-free operation of the vehicle.

When planning the gradual introduction of electric trucks, it is worth to consider the functioning of the charging infrastructure, taking into account both charging power and failure-free operation. Any potential failure of the system could prevent the implementation of the tasks for which the vehicles are intended.

“The charging station provided by Ekoenergetyka for the tests was installed in various locations. Remote monitoring of the functioning of the device showed that the charging system worked without any problems. Each charging cycle allowed for the full use of the device power, which in turn made it possible to test the performance of the electric vehicle in the daily functioning of municipal service companies.  Ekoenergetyka-Polska S.A. will supply three 400 kW pantograph fast-charging stations to be installed in three locations in Szczecin, as agreed in the investment agreement signed today. The agreement also provides for the delivery of 3 transformer stations and a system for remote measurement of the operating parameters of the charging stations, as well as for the construction of road infrastructure at electric bus charging points.

 

I am glad that Szczecin will receive additional stations to its charging infrastructure for electric buses. The agreement signed today is a second project of this kind implemented in Szczecin by Ekoenergetyka. The development of electromobility in Polish cities is particularly important for us. We specialize in the production, installation and servicing of electric bus charging systems. We supply our products to clients all over the world. Our solutions are used in 130 cities in 18 countries. Szczecińskie Przedsiębiorstwo Autobusowe “Klonowica”, which is one of the city’s bus transport companies, ordered in February this year 6 charging stations from Ekoenergetyka, which are installed on the premises of the bus depot at Klonowica street.  As set out in the provisions of the agreement, the depot will ultimately have six, double-output stations with a capacity of 120 kW each. After their commissioning, each station will be able to charge two buses with 60 kW or one bus by 120 kW. The agreement signed today provides for the delivery of 3 more charging stations which, according to the schedule, will be commissioned later this year.

 

For the city of Szczecin, the recent months have been the time of investments in modern public transport. Later this year we are planning put 8 electric SOLARIS buses into service. Another 6 electric vehicles will be delivered next year. In order to operate, the buses need an appropriate infrastructure, which is provided by Ekoenergetyka Polska S.A.  Soon, by launching regular public transport based on electric buses we will make a major step towards improving air quality and, consequently, the quality of life of all residents of Szczecin – says Radosław Tumielewicz, President of the Management Board of Szczecińskie Inwestycje Miejskie Sp. z o.o.

Ekoenergetyka starts cooperating with Wakefield-based sustainability consultants, EV3 Power, for its development of an UK-wide sales network.

 

Entering the British market is an important stage in the development of our network in Europe. Only 7 minutes for Heavy Duty EV (HDEV) and 1 minute for Light Duty EV (LDEV)! This is the time that it takes to charge a vehicle to drive 100 km in the innovative charging station that is being developed by Ekoenergetyka – Polska.  In response to the needs of the future market of long-range electric vehicles, Ekoenergetyka is working on a series of charging stations with a capacity ranging from 750 to 1500 kW. The company plans to implement ultrafast chargers with partners in Germany and Poland in pilot projects for passenger and heavy electric vehicles.

­­­­­NeU, the most recent project by Ekoenergetyka, will revolutionise the e-mobility market. The company is developing high power charging infrastructure for HDEVs and LDEVs. The time of charging a vehicle from the station with the initial capacity of 750 kW that is being developed in the R&D centre of Ekoenergetyka will take only 1 minute or 7 minutes, respectively for the assumed power consumption of 20 kWh/100 km and 90 kWh/100 km. This means that LDEVs will only require 4 minutes of charging to drive 400 kilometres. For HDEVs, this will take less than half an hour, i.e. the duration of the obligatory break for drivers.
