At the evening gala during the 3rd edition of the Congress 590 in Rzeszów, the Economic Awards of the President of the Republic of Poland were awarded.  Ekoenergetyka-Polska was the finalist in the category of the SME Leader! Congress 590 is an important economic event, a meeting and discussion place for representatives of business, science and politics.

The nomination for the award is a great honor for us. It is important to us that our efforts for quiet cities and clean air through electrification of public transport have been appreciated. This is the best proof that our actions are heading in the right direction
 – commented Bartosz Kubik, President of Ekoenergetyka-Polska.

Ekoenergetyka-Polska and the National Centre for Research and Development

Cooperation of the Zielona Góra-based company with the polish National Centre for Research and Developement enabled the participation in the competition – NCR&D notified Ekoenergetyka-Polska. Currently there are two projects run by Ekoenergtyka and supported by NCBiR: “DC powered electric buses charging station” and “Autonomous charging system for electric buses”. Both projects are co-financed by the European Union from the European Regional Development Fund under the Smart Growth Operational Programme 2014-2020. The first effects of the conducted R&D works are visible. In Kraków works a 160kW pantograph charging station powered from the overhead contact line.

From the very beginning, our company focuses on the implementation of R&D works, so that each product is a unique project tailored to meet the expectations and needs of our customers. We are glad that our cooperation with the National Centre for Research and Development brings real results in the form of new solutions and nominations for the President of the Republic of Poland’s Economic Award – adds Maciej Wojeński, Vice-President of Ekoenergetyka-Polska.

This year alone, Ekoenergetyka delivered nearly 80 charging stations to such markets as Germany, Sweden, Norway, Spain, Turkey and Poland and signed contracts for the supply of stations for Hamburg, Poznań and PKN Orlen. These orders are the best example for the promotion of the Polish economy on global markets.

High-speed EV chargers in Orlen stations

PKN ORLEN completed the tender procedure for suppliers of charging stations for electric cars. Fast charging of EVs will be possible in 150 locations located both in cities and along transit routes throughout Poland. In the first stage of the pilot project, by the end of 2019, approximately 50 points will be launched.

Ekoenergetyka-Polska as infrastructure provider

The completed tender included the selection of suppliers of 50, 100 and 150 kW chargers that allow fast charging of electric vehicles. One of the three producers of charging infrastructure selected in the tender is Ekoenergetyka-Polska. The task of the selected companies is to prepare a project, provide the stations with their installation and service. PKN ORLEN charging points will serve all types of electric cars offered on the European market and will be equipped with three charging plugs – CHAdeMO and CCS (with direct current) and a Type 2 (with alternating current) connector.

As part of the pilot programme, the first charging station for electric cars is already operating in Płock near PKN Orlen, where drivers can benefit from free charging of their vehicles. The 50 kW charging station is designed for both electric (EV) and hybrid (PHEV) vehicles and offers the possibility of charging 4 vehicles at the same time. The power for each of the stations is dynamically allocated by the station’s controller during charging, thanks to which it will be possible to significantly shorten its time.

Ekoenergetyka-Polska – Verkehrsbetriebe Hamburg-Holstein GmbH

Ekoenergetyka-Polska, the Polish manufacturer of charging infrastructure for electric vehicles, has won a tender for the delivery of charging stations for electric buses to Hamburg, Germany. Verkehrsbetriebe Hamburg-Holstein GmbH (VHH) is the second largest public transport operator in northern Germany. The operator has adopted a very ambitious plan, which assumes the replacement of all buses with electric buses by 2030. One of the key stages of electrification of transport is the provision of fast charging stations with a total capacity of more than 7 MW.

Framework contract for the delivery of charging infrastructure

Ekoenergetyka and VHH signed an eight-year framework agreement on 17 August. As part of the first delivery, chargers with a capacity of 1.2 MW will be designed and implemented. The block will be divided into four modules of 300 kW each, which will transmit energy to up to 16 buses via charging points called “Wallbox” equipped with plug-in connectors. Vehicles will be charged using a CCS-compliant Combo-2 connector. Each “Wallbox” will be equipped with two plugs of this type. The infrastructure for VHH will be equipped with an intelligent management system that allows the charging of electric buses with adjustable charging power. Ekoenergetyka-Polska is to supply Hamburg with the first 1.2 MW unit in January 2019, the next two in the middle of the year, and the next two in the further stages of the project.

In parallel to the work on bus charging stations, the German operator has adapted the workshop for the operation and maintenance of electric buses and plans to purchase them successively. By the end of 2019 VHH plans to open 48 charging points.
